December's Top desktop advertisers saw a bit of a shake-up from November, the biggest being Life Technologies Corporation drop from #1 to #14 and Zulily's drop from #5 to #20. See the Top 5 below or download the Top 50 here.
DECEMBER'S TOP DESKTOP ADVERTISERS:
With all of the money being spent over the holidays, it's no surprise that AmEx reclaimed the top spot with a mostly direct strategy - accounting for 78% of their total impressions for the month. 365 unique creatives were detected across an average of 532 sites per day, the top site being Amazon.com.
The holidays are a big time for phone upgrades so Verizon also reclaimed the #2 position after slipping one position last month. 71% of all total impressions were purchased through ad networks while 17% of impressions were direct. Overall, 394 unique creatives were seen during the month.
Chase broke into the Top 5 with 300 unique creatives seen across on average of 376 sites per day. Going direct (75% of total impresssions), yahoo.com, aol.com and amazon.com were the finance giant's top 3 targeted sites.
Google went big for December with 388 unique creatives seen over an average of 553 sites per day. Yahoo.com, reddit.com, and ebay.com were the top sites for the mega company that purchased 55% of their total ad impressions direct.
Consistently a top performing advertiser, it's also no surprise that Spring is in the Top 5. With 114 unique creatives seen over an average of 385 sites per day, Sprint's top 3 sites were yahoo.com, Amazon.com and imdb.com.
