It's that time again! Every month, we release the former month's top advertisers across desktop & mobile including direct buys to keep you on your toes in the ever-changing digital advertising landscape.
November's top 5 desktop advertisers saw changes from October in ranking placement, but no new advertisers cracked the top spots. The top 10 saw some new faces with Sprint, Best Buy, Google & Ford Dealer Associations pushing out Dish Network, AT&T, Geico and Amazon (which fell from #9 to #41 from October to November). 1. Life Technologies Corporation
NOVEMBER'S TOP DESKTOP ADVERTISERS:
Life Technologies Corporation took the top spot from American Express jumping from #4 in October to #1. We saw 249 unique creatives during the month (206 in October) with their top direct targeted sites being ebay.com, accuweather.com and spanishdict.com. On average, we detected Life Technologies creatives on 1480 sites per day.
Dropping off the top spot, American Express came it at #2 for the month of November. 395 unique creatives were seen across an average of 462 sites per day (down from 471 per day in October). Their top 3 sites for the month were amazon.com, cnn.com and americanexpress.com.
Verizon also dropped down a rank from #2 in October to #3. With an increase of direct ad buying from 8% to 16%, we saw 468 unique creatives in November - up from 447 last month. Verizon's average sites per day increased from 711 in October to 730 with an impression share increase from 1.2% to 1.33%. Yahoo.com, amazon.com and phonearena were Verizon's top sites.
Capital One dropped from #3 to #4 in November with 232 unique creatives detected on an average of 170 sites per day. The top targeted sites for the month were msn.com (100% Indirect), aol.com (100% Direct) and amazon.com (100% Direct). Total direct ad buying decreased from 59% in October to 53% last month, but buying impressions via ad networks increased from 32% to 44% during that time.
Holding strong at #5 for the second month in a row is online retailer Zulily. 459 unique creatives were released in November, down from 499 the month prior. Average sites per day also dropped from 603 down to 456 from October to November. There was a 10% increase in direct spending while ad network spending decreased from 91% to 82%. Top targeted sites were msn.com, aol.com and fanfiction.net.
