Marketing Analytics Platform: How to Get Started With Pathmatics


Welcome to Pathmatics! It’s time to gain some transparency into the world of digital advertising.
When you first start using any new technology, it can be overwhelming. At Pathmatics, we’re aware of that—and we’re here to walk you through the six simple steps to getting started with our marketing analytics platform.
Here’s how to get started with Pathmatics’ key functionalities. In no time, you’ll be making smarter decisions about your digital advertising strategy.
1. View Your Dashboard
The Pathmatics data analytics dashboard is the first stop, available at the top of the “My Tools” menu. This screen is a treasure trove of advertiser, website, and ad network data. To use it, simply choose advertisers to follow.
Once you’ve searched and followed your competitors or other advertisers of interest, you can use the dashboard to see:
- Impressions
- Impression spikes
- New creative alerts
- Buying opportunities
- Ads across channels, including desktop, mobile, and video
Use the dashboard as your competitive intelligence hub, gaining insights at a high level.
2. Check in on Top Advertisers
Once you have your finger on the pulse of your most important competitors, move on to check in on what the top advertisers in any industry category are up to.
By navigating to My Tools > Top Advertisers, you can narrow by industry to see the top spending and top impressions-gaining advertisers. Below, you can see the top industries as well as the top advertisers—and you can break down and organize data by purchase channel, ad channel, total spend, and total impressions.
3. See Advertiser Categories
Ready to drill down to specific industries? Simply click “Choose Category” from the Top Advertisers page or navigate to My Tools > Advertiser Categories to see top creatives, biggest spenders, and specific data in particular industries of interest.
For example, here’s a look at the top creatives for ads in the Pets industry.
This is where you can gain priceless competitive insight into the strategies of other advertisers in your industry.
4. Compare Advertisers
To take these competitor insights to the next level, navigate to My Tools > Advertiser Comparison. Here, you can select two or more advertisers and compare their creatives, expenditures, and performance across channels within a specific time frame.
Learn how much each advertiser is spending, how many creatives they’ve shared, the overall impressions they’ve gained, top sites on which they’re advertising, a day-by-day comparison of spend versus impressions, and a breakdown of purchase channel.
5. Compare Websites
To compare who is advertising on particular websites, navigate to My Tools > Site Comparison. Here, you can see the spend channel and impression share for each website, as well as the top advertisers running ads on each.
There you have it! Within 15 minutes, you’re ready to hit the ground running and coordinate stellar ad campaigns.
